Hello.

This has been a long time in the making. Creating a personal blog where everything will be completely about me - what I'm thinking, what I'm doing has been something I've been toying with for a couple years now. I've finally decided to start a blog for a couple reasons. The first is to be held accountable for my health/fitness. I've always had a pretty relationship when it comes to taking control of my own health/fitness, so why not post publicly that I'm doing something. Hopefully this will get me to actually drive past the Shake Shack rather than stopping in for a quick burger, fries AND shake. The second reason being quite simple and broad: an outlet. I'm a pretty internal person and tend not to share too much with others in person. I think this is primarily due to the way that I was brought up, but also somethings I prefer to keep to myself (like anyone out here). Having somewhere to share what I'm thinking and chronicle what's happening digitally is appealing and I figured why not give it a shot. Blogging could be my way of sharing while making myself accountable. 

Now with all of that out of the way, I guess I should share a bit about who I actually am! My name is Samantha, most of the time nicknamed Sam and I'm 23 years old, living in sunny Los Angeles, California. I've been out here since June 2012, so reaching my 2 year mark in a month. Time really does fly by! I moved out here straight after graduating to work in media in brand strategy. It wasn't ever something that I really knew much about in college or even going to the job, but I definitely love what I do and the fact that I'm constantly learning and thinking. The fact that I live and work in such a large and diverse city like Los Angeles is a definite perk of having moved out here for work. There so much to explore and so many activities that it can be hard to just stay home and relax on the weekends. Hopefully I'll share some of my adventures here too. For now here's a picture of a tree I took on one of my hikes. 

So with this first post the blog starts!
